We kept the original video under 10 minutes for YouTube but many voices were left out. Will you add yours to our project?
We want to build on this project by encouraging people who identify as sex workers (including dancers, phone sex operators, BDSM practitioners, escorts, sexual surrogates, porn performers, and many others), those involved in the sex trade, and people who have been trafficked into sex work to submit their advice videos for this website.
How do I do it?
Use your computer, your phone, your camera, or any recording device you have around.
Think about what you want to say. Short and simple is best - ideally the video should be 1 minutes or less. If you want to say a lot, consider making a few short videos. Frame your words using "I" and "you" - speak to the camera as if you are speaking directly to your lover. Please consider how the advice you give should be personal, but not so personal so that only a past or existing lover will understand your words. Think about all the people out there who will benefit from your experience, and think of them as the "you" in your advice.
For example:
"I want you to understand that I'm doing what I have to to pay my bills, and the sex I am having is for that, not because you don't satisfy me."
While you might want to vent (and we all have a crappy story of a lover who didn't get it), please remember that this video is trying to build a gently challenging space. With your help, we want to create a resource for partners and lovers that helps them listen and grow.
We realize that many of you are not out about your work to your lovers, family, friends, immigration, police, etc because of stigma, reasons of personal safety and criminalization. If you don't want to be identified, here are some ideas on making your submission anonymous:
Also, if you send us a video and then change your mind, you can ask us at ANY time to remove it. We promise to do so.
Send us the video! You can email it, send it via sendspace.com if it's a bit bigger, or if you have the tech savvy, upload to your own YouTube or Vimeo or whatever account and send us the link.

- Film a different part of your body that you love
- Backlight the video so we can't really see your face
- Wear a wig or another disguise like sunglasses
- Shoot the video in profile
- Video yourself writing the message out
- Get a friend to read it for you
- Send us your advice in writing and we will post it
